A: There are other managers out there that can claim better performance under low stress. But we believe that BigBrain takes the crown in high-stress situations. BigBrain was never designed for raw speed, but maximum scalability. This added overhead can cause it to be a bit slower than others when you look at low-stress numbers, but when you run your high-load tests, you will start to see a big difference.

A: The memory manager was originally built by an individual for a client as a replacement for a failing memory management system the client had already in-place. The requirements were 1) that it have equivalent or better performance than MultiMM from OptimalCode.com (the failing manager) 2) solve problems with access violations in MultiMM and 3) have the ability to free memory. After exploring options to patch MultiMM, it was decided that it would be best to start from the ground up, and BigBrain was developed. This client has 3 large data-centers serving approximately 3-million hits per day on installations on state-wide servers and installations in the UK and South Africa. Since then, BigBrain and BigBrainPro have been installed by over 300 companies with varying needs.
